Compression and conversion
Results depend on the source image, selected format, quality, dimensions, browser codec, device memory, and requested settings. Lossy compression can reduce visible quality. Conversions can alter colors, bit depth, transparency, chroma detail, profiles, or other features.
A target file size is an aim. The tool reports the actual result and may stop above or below the requested size when bounded quality search cannot get closer without reducing dimensions or changing format.
Metadata, animation, and multiple images
Metadata removal is tested against common EXIF, GPS, IPTC, XMP, comments, thumbnails, text chunks, and editor markup. It may not identify every proprietary block. Verify especially sensitive output before sharing.
Animated GIF and APNG content is not silently flattened. Multi-page TIFF and HEIC sequence behavior is limited. When first-frame or first-page extraction is offered, it happens only after explicit selection and the result is labeled.
Backups and important use
Keep original backups. Do not use a processed file as the only archival copy or assume it preserves evidentiary authenticity, medical detail, print color, legal metadata, or regulatory requirements. Inspect significant outputs with a suitable specialist tool.
